Overview

Having dedicated 35 years to Toyota Racing Development (TRD), U.S.A., mechanical engineering alumnus David Wilson ‘84 is a distinguished figure in the world of motorsports. He served as the president of TRD from January 2014 until his retirement this past December. Throughout his tenure, Wilson held various roles, including vice president of operations and engineering, track support engineer, and design engineer.

Under his leadership, TRD achieved numerous championships and race wins across different racing series, including NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA. Wilson played a pivotal role in Toyota's significant entries into both CART/INDYCAR and NASCAR. His contributions were recognized with the prestigious Bill France Award of Excellence in 2024.

Wilson's career is marked by his passion for motorsports and his commitment to excellence, making him a respected and influential leader in the industry.
