Distinguished Lecture — An Engineer's Journey Through Atoms and Pixels
ARRIVING AT A GESTALT
Tech Executive, Uma Jayaram
In collaboration with the Virginia Tech College of Engineering, the Student Engineers' Council (SEC) is proud to host Uma Jayaram M.S. ‘88, Ph.D. ‘91. As a technology executive, Jayaram leads initiatives at the intersection of innovation, talent, and social impact for Electronic Arts — specifically in the areas of AI adoption and digital innovation.
Hear our guest speaker give an inspiring lecture, followed by a Q&A with the audience! In her live presentation, mechanical engineering alumna Jayaram will share insights from her three-decade journey as an engineer, including:
- How her teams have explored the increasing role of AI in our lives
- What the lessons of the Gestalt from the past decades of navigating between the physical realm (atoms) and the digital/virtual environment (pixels) offer as we enter this new phase
- The unique vantage point engineers hold in addressing the challenges and opportunities of our times
