Frequently Asked Questions
Tickets may be purchased by Virginia Tech Engineering students in degree granting majors (sophomores, juniors, & seniors).
Unfortunately, engineering students who remain in the First Year Engineering Education Program (freshmen) are not eligible to purchase a ticket. However, there will be a supplmentary First-Year Formal hosted by the SEC First-Year Experience Committee. More information about First-Year Formal coming soon!
Each student eligible for a ticket may purchase a ticket for themselves and one additional guest. While your accompanying guest is not restricted by year or college, they must be 18 years of age or older and/or a Virginia Tech student.
If you are an sophomore, junior, or senior level student you will recieve an email at the begining of the Spring semester with a link to purchase your ticket.
You must be registered on the SEC listserv to recieve this email. Please click here to join if you do not already recieve our emails.
Ticket sales are first come, first serve and we expect them to sell out quickly. Once you have purchased your ticket, you will be added to the guest list. Please arrive to the German Club Manor, starting at 7:00pm with a valid photo I.D. We will have SEC members checking you in at the door!
Yes! Freshmen are welcome to compete in the Engineers' Week competition. If your team places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, you will be given 4 complementary E-Ball tickets, even if you are a freshman engineering student.
Ticekts to the Engineers' Ball are non-refundable. Refunds will not be given except in specific circumstances. Engineers' Ball is an off-campus event at the German Club Manor. The SEC will follow all local, state, and federal ordinance in determining the procedures at the event. In the event that we cannot host this ball, full refunds will be issued.

No, parking is not available at German Club. However, you can park at Chicken Hill lot with a VT parking pass.

Once tickets have sold out, you may enter the waitlist. Each waitlist entry only allows you to purchase a SINGLE ticket if/when tickets are released. Emails on the waitlist must be "@vt.edu" emails.
